From November 25th to December 14th we held a Kotlin contest together with our friends over at JetBrains. Participants were asked to write cross-platform mobile apps using Kotlin and RoboVM for a chance to win some nice prizes. Today we are happy to announce the winners of the contest!

Grand Prize

Prat Tanapaisankit (@pt2121) submitted Summon, a cross-platform mobile app to call an Uber for your friends. Want to invite friends but aren’t sure how to get them to your place? Summon is the app for you! We selected Summon as the grand prize winner as it’s a great learning resources and also serves as a perfect example of how to share code across platforms.

Runner Up

Boris Vanin (@fogone) submitted Reactive gdx, a cross-platform game development framework based on libGDX. While Reactive gdx was not the most visual of submissions, we felt it deserved the second prize for showing of how Kotlin’s features can make for a immensely interesting take on game development.

Thanks!

We had a very hard time deciding on the winners. Every submission blew us away! As a token of our appreciation, all participants will receive a $10 gift card for either the App Store or Google Play.

We’d like to thank everyone who participated in the contest and hope you had as much fun writing your entry as we had exploring your code and playing with your apps!
